The Last Dreamwalker
Layla’s relationship with her mother has always been strained, made worse by the sleeping disorder that has plagued her all her life. When her mother unexpectedly dies, Layla reaches out to her maternal aunts, with whom she has little contact over the years, hoping to find closure.
What Layla finds instead, is that her mother has been harboring dark secrets. The problems with sleep Layla has been struggling with throughout the years, is in fact a power passed down through generations of her Gullah-Geechee ancestors, a power that allows her to inhabit and manipulate the dreams of others.
As Layla struggles to come to terms with what she is coming to know about her mother, and to understand this power that she has inherited, she finds herself caught in the middle of a longstanding feud fought in the realms of dreams.
